How Chemo is Going...

Some have been asking how Chemo is going, so after two rounds (and a 3rd Friday, then rest for a week) I can give you better insight. Some side effects are beginning to show themselves now...Mom is feeling very, very tired, and a bit "off" now. Her energy is lacking, and she worries about what it will be like once the school year hits. She is starting to become a teenager again and has some mild breakouts around the chin and nose, but they'll give her creams and meds for that kind of stuff. The good news-no nausea or hair loss yet, so that's a big positive!

I fully believe that God will provide the energy, or at least help, once Mom hits the classroom-Kindergarteners are a handful, but I know she can do it. Right now, I'm praying that even now, her students might be a special kind this year-easy to deal with, eager to learn! If Dad needs to watch the boys, and I need to come help, that's what we'll do!

It does get hard some times-for the first time in about 5 years, we have to cancel our October Ocean City trip-disappointing for all, but we just don't know how things are going to be in the future...we take each day at a time -Mom takes each day at a time, because she feels different each day.

We still have so much joy though! The boys are such a blessing-Collin is very, very much like me-which is good and bad...he wears his emotions on his sleeve-full of joy and energy, but when he's upset, watch out! Fortunately, just like Mommy, his anger or sorrow is quick, and he's back to smiling up a storm =) Cameron is turning into a joy to watch-he's so laid back and happy, smiling at everything and every one all the time...he talks nonstop and is already grasping rattles , putting weight on his legs, and holding his head up...and those dimples? To die for! Mom and Dad took the boys to the park across the street the other day-Mom even went down the slide with Collin! I can now see why God gave us to babies in a year-He knew we needed the distraction! (Funny, I had accidently wrote distrUCTION instead of distrACTION-kinda the same thing with two boys, right?)

Lauren and Justin are getting ready for the big move from Hawaii to CA, and though they are a little sad to be leaving the place they called home for five years, they are excited for the future! The lucky couple will be going on a cruise the last week in October with Justin's parents, and then they'll head to us!

Prayer Requests:

-Mom's energy level, especially as she heads back to work

-That other side effects of the Chemo remain at bay

-That the tumor continues to shrink!
